This retailer is a marketing leading food retailer with sites throughout the UK and ROI. Reporting to the Group Chief Executive and a key member of the board leadership team, the Group Trading Director will lead the large trading team, who are each responsible for individual categories and their own P&L. You will lead your team to develop and implement best in class supplier segmentation, negotiation and strategy, ensuring the pricing and promotional strategy meets the customers needs. In addition, you will take a proactive approach to understand the wider market, competitor trends, and design strategic road-maps that drive category growth and further development, which will include new customer acquisition, and retention.
The ideal candidate will be a talented trading expert, modern in your approach and have a successful track record of building long-term, win-win relationships with your supplier base. This will have all been gained within a grocery, food, or convenience retailing environment.
